It is most likely to be the case that Saudi's will start Ramadan on the 11th this is based on their ruling that if a moon sighted anywhere in the world not necessarily by naked eye i.e. optical aid even if its an island that no one resides. however this contradicts sharia and we have to be doubtful and careful when attaining this method. Hence we don't follow Saudi for this reason. Read what I have to say:

Moonsighting for Ramadan 1431 Extract from moonsighting.com

The Astronomical New Moon is on August 10, 2010 (Tuesday) at 3:08 UT. On this day, this moon may not be seen in any continent. With difficulty it may be visible in South America. Only in Polynesian Islands on August 10, it will be easily visible. On August 11, it will be easy... to see in New Zealand, Australia, South-East Asia, Afirca and Americas, while it will be difficult to see in Northern Asia, Europe, and Canada. See the visibility map below:

      Conclusion

Based on the ruling of sighting from the East of Uk (Wifaqul Ulema*) as there is no possibility of sighting the moon on the 10th August hence, the first night of Ramadan would be on Wednesday 11th August and therefore the first day of Ramadan will be on Thursday 12th August inshallah.
